Lock-Up (Pre-Plaster | Free Visible Frame Reassessment)
Evaluation of the building external enclosure before interior plastering begins, assessing windows, doors, and roofing for security and weather resistance.
The lock-up stage marks a significant milestone in your new home build. At this point, the building should be fully enclosed with the roof installed, external cladding complete, and all windows and doors fitted. Our inspectors thoroughly assess every element of the building envelope to ensure it is weather-tight and correctly installed. We check roof cladding and fixings, gutters and downpipes, window and door installations, flashings, insulation, and wall plumbness. This inspection also includes a complimentary reassessment of all visible frame elements to confirm any previously identified issues have been rectified. Once plastering begins, many of these elements become permanently concealed.
