Recruiting in NSW · VIC · QLD

We hire the inspectors other inspectors recommend.

Owner Inspections is growing in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland, and we recruit selectively: licensed building inspectors, builders, building surveyors, engineers and timber pest technicians who take pride in a thorough inspection. Every applicant passes licence verification, a technical interview and a supervised field assessment before their first job.

Six stages before the first job

Our clients trust the name on the report, so joining is deliberately not easy. This is the bar every Owner Inspections inspector has cleared.

1

Application

Submit the form with your qualifications, licence numbers, insurance and experience.

2

Screening

Our recruitment team reviews your application against the standards and coverage we need. Most applications do not progress past this stage.

3

Credential and licence verification

We verify every licence number with the issuing body and sight your certificate of currency.

4

Technical interview

A senior inspector walks through defect scenarios, reporting standards and how you work on site.

5

Supervised field assessment

You complete an inspection alongside one of our senior inspectors, assessed against our report standard.

6

Onboarding

Platform access, report standard training, and your first jobs with senior review on every report until sign-off.

Why inspectors work with us

Most inspectors spend half their week chasing leads, quoting and writing reports at night. We built the business so you do not have to.

Work you choose

Set the postcodes you cover and the inspection types you take. We only send you jobs that fit.

Jobs come to you

We handle the marketing, quoting, bookings and client follow up. You turn up and inspect.

Reports without the night shift

Our reporting platform builds the report from your on-site findings and photos, so you are not writing until midnight.

Paid on time

Clear per-job rates agreed up front, invoiced through our system and paid on a set cycle.

Backed by the office

Technical support, admin, scheduling and client questions are handled by our team, not by you.

Grow your ticket

Access to ongoing training and additional report types, from dilapidation through to expert witness work.

Who we are looking for

Roles are available as a subcontractor under your own ABN or, in some regions, as an employed inspector. Either way, we want people who take pride in a thorough inspection and a report a homeowner can actually understand.

Strong trade or construction background but new to inspections? Apply anyway and tell us about it in the form. The selection process is the same for everyone; we train the right people through it.

  • Relevant licence or trade qualification for the work you want to take on
  • Current professional indemnity and public liability insurance (or willingness to obtain it)
  • Own vehicle, tools and testing equipment
  • ABN and the right to work in Australia
  • A track record of thorough, plain-English reporting
