Maison is a highly experienced Building Consultant and Expert Witness with over 21 years of experience in the industry. He is passionate about quality construction and aims to contribute to the community by helping homeowners live in the high-quality homes they deserve.

Maison is very quality orientated, and this commitment to excellence has led him to be successful in business. He is also highly regarded in the industry as a Member of the Australian Society of Building Consultants and an Expert Witness. Maison's skillset covers Steel, Concrete and Timber structures, making him an invaluable asset when it comes to assessing building damage.

He possesses excellent determination and will to succeed, as well as integrity and morality. These qualities have seen him through many challenges throughout his career, while his continuous learning and updation in construction and law keep him at the forefront of his field and make him someone you can highly trust.

Joanne is a certified building biologist who evaluates health hazards in the built environment and provides strategies to address exposure and/or source control. She completed her training with the Australian College of Environmental Studies (ACES) and has advanced training in the Mould Technician Course (BLDBIO606) and Mould Testing and Destructive Sampling training through ACES. Additionally, she completed the Water Damage and Restoration Certificate through the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration (IICRC). She is also a certified EMR consultant and has completed a nationally accredited course in Electromagnetic Field Testing (BLDBIO602).

Joanne has been helping to create healthier homes for over ten years by assessing hundreds of places such as homes, schools and workplaces. She recognises mould & EMF exposure issues while also being more passionate about preventive actions, equipping people with the right tools to keep their living environments healthy by understanding potential health hazards. Her expertise has seen her featured on numerous radio programmes related to wellness, plus a national television programme on healthy homes, all part of her mission towards greater awareness around creating safe habitats for everyone.

Arash is a Principal Structural and facade Engineer with over 20 years of experience in the industry. He holds a BEng(Civil), MEng (Structural), MSc (Project Management), and MBA(Strategic Management) from some of the most prestigious universities in Australia and overseas.

Arash has extensive experience in both design and management roles across multiple sectors, including commercial, residential, health, aged care, education, correctional facilities and industrial.

Ali is a Civil and Structural Engineer with over 20 years of experience in the industry. He has extensive experience in design roles across multiple sectors, including commercial, residential from low-rise to high-rise buildings, health, aged care, education, and industrial. His key areas of expertise are complex industrial design, structural engineering design for steel and concrete structures, and project management.

His design work covers residential and commercial structural and civil stormwater design and industrial structural design, along with the analysis of buildings for cyclonic and non-cyclonic wind loading and for earthquake loading.

Max is a construction project and site manager with experience across industrial, commercial, and residential projects, including low-rise apartments, high-rise mixed-use developments, luxury apartments, renovations, and low-cost housing. He has managed excavation, civil works, concrete and steel structures, precast production and on-site concrete batching, and high-end finishes, and he runs programmes that keep quality, safety, time, and budget on track.

He brings strong technical capability across construction methodology, project planning, and site supervision. He reads and reviews plans and design documentation, manages subcontractors and scopes, drives defect rectification through the finishing and handover stages, and works to the NCC/BCA and relevant Australian Standards during delivery and site checks. He has also worked client-side for a government entity, alongside contractors and developer builders.

He previously worked as a chartered building certifier and building surveyor in Iran, where he is a chartered and licensed civil engineer and a chartered structural engineer. In that role he inspected projects under construction for government bodies to confirm compliance with safety regulations, building codes, the development approval and statutory regulations, and influenced design so that buildings were safe, energy efficient and compliant.

Peter has worked in residential construction since 1989, beginning in carpentry and moving into site supervision and project management. Over that career he has been involved in the construction of more than 300 dwellings, from single and double storey homes through to knock down rebuilds and medium density projects.

Since 2018 he has worked in building inspections full time and has completed more than 1,000 inspections. His work covers construction stage inspections at pre-slab, slab, frame, lock up, waterproofing and fixing stages, practical completion and occupancy inspections, and pre-purchase building and pest inspections.

He assesses work against the National Construction Code, the Guide to Standards and Tolerances and the relevant Australian Standards. Most of the defects he finds trace back to water, so he pays particular attention to poorly fitted windows, blocked weep holes, incomplete caulking and waterproofing, failed flashings, and drainage and site falls that move water towards a building rather than away from it.

Peter completed building and pest inspection training in 2017 and termite inspection training with MPL Training Centre in the same year, and he holds a Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety.

Babak has always had a passion for construction and engineering. After completing his undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering, he began his career in the building industry. He has worked as a builder, site supervisor and project manager on many residential projects.

Babak holds licences in termite management and completed residential building inspections in Queensland. Babak is a certified PMP (Project Management Professional).

Jamal is a highly experienced and versatile professional who has contributed to university teaching across a range of courses including Advanced Water and Wastewater Engineering, Cleaner Production and Eco-efficiency, Engineering Communication & Leadership, Environmental Hydrology and Hydraulics, Environmental Management Systems, Hazardous Waste Management, Renewable Energy Systems, and Water and Wastewater Treatment Fundamentals.

Jamal possesses extensive knowledge and expertise in building and construction, with a particular focus on inspection, defect detection, and remedial works. His profound understanding of building inspections and defect investigations has been honed over his 9-year career as a Building Inspector, where he has consistently demonstrated his ability to identify structural issues and recommend effective solutions. Jamal's skills in termite inspections and his experience in the construction industry further enhance his ability to ensure the safety and integrity of buildings.

Jamal is an invaluable member of the Owner Inspections team, bringing a wealth of knowledge and a dedicated approach to every project.

Hany, who also goes by Max, is a building inspector with Owner Inspections and a Registered Building Practitioner in the Domestic Builder Unlimited class. That registration is the unrestricted domestic building category in Victoria, and it underpins the way he reads a site, as a builder assessing whether the work in front of him has been set out, sequenced and finished to the standard the contract and the code require.

He carries out inspections across the Melbourne metropolitan area. His work covers construction stage inspections through frame, fixing and waterproofing and practical completion, along with pre-purchase building and pest inspections, dilapidation reports and investigation reports into specific defects. Each inspection is assessed against the National Construction Code, the relevant Australian Standards, and the architectural plans, engineering drawings and specifications for the project, with every defect documented and tracked through to rectification.

Hany holds a Victorian pest control licence covering pesticides formulated to control pests including timber pests, which allows him to carry out the timber pest component of a pre-purchase inspection himself rather than referring it on. He is also accredited by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority to operate remotely piloted aircraft, and uses drone imagery to inspect roofs, gutters and upper level facades that cannot be safely reached by ladder.

On site he works with thermal imaging and non-invasive moisture metering to identify concealed moisture, along with the levels, laser measures and inspection tools needed to verify tolerances and access roof spaces and subfloors.

Philip brings over 45 years in building, construction, and inspection roles. He completes pre-purchase, dilapidation, defects, and expert reporting work for real estate agents and private clients, and he delivers clear site-based reports that support decision-making and rectification planning.

He started in pest control and building technician work, then progressed through carpentry and joinery into licensed building and project management. He has also handled home warranty insurance claim case management and builder contract review programmes, so he understands how defects, contracts, and compliance intersect on real projects.

He holds a current NSW builder licence (Lc R91016) and maintains core site safety credentials, including working safely at heights and a construction induction card. He completed accredited E1 swimming pool certifier training and does not hold a current pool certifier registration.

Since 2007, Josh has worked across residential construction and commercial projects, then moved into larger infrastructure works. He delivers site-focused building insight from hands-on experience in carpentry, renovations, and construction activities on active projects.

He progressed from carpentry apprenticeship into leading-hand roles, including running crews on commercial builds such as a nursing home and a large childcare centre. He also runs bathroom renovation works through his own business and has recent experience on major infrastructure projects, including a new airport and a motorway extension.

He supports his site work with current safety training, high-risk tickets, and asbestos and silica awareness training.

Christopher is a building inspector with Owner Inspections, carrying out inspections across Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong. He holds a NSW Contractor Licence and works through his own licensed inspection business.

His inspection work centres on building and property defect and quality assurance inspections. He examines both the interior and exterior of a property, checks that construction complies with the National Construction Code and the relevant Australian Standards, and confirms that the work follows the architectural plans, engineering drawings, layouts and specifications for the project. He reports on defective work at each stage of construction, follows defects through to rectification, and advises owners throughout the build.

Alongside stage inspections, he carries out pre-purchase inspections in line with the Australian Standards so that buyers understand the condition of a property before they commit. He also undertakes insurance inspections that include a written report and a cost estimate, and expert witness work covering the inspection, the report, the Scott Schedule, expert conclaves and tribunal hearings.

He equips his inspections with thermal imaging and moisture metering, along with ladder access to roofs and roof spaces, digital spirit levels, laser and tape measures and a telescopic mirror.

Gregory is a QBCC-licensed builder and site supervisor with over 20 years' experience delivering construction projects across capital works, modular education, social housing, and commercial programmes. He manages multiple live sites at once, overseeing procurement through to handover, while keeping delivery aligned with scope, programme, safety, quality, and budget.

He has worked client-side and as a business owner, including running construction management and consultancy services for complex projects. His background includes modular building delivery, civil and structural works, and site leadership across multi-stakeholder environments, with a strong focus on practical planning, risk controls, and compliance with the NCC/BCA.

He holds a current Queensland Building and Construction Commission licence and has training that supports higher-risk environments, including asbestos awareness, working at heights, and first aid.

Heydar is a building inspector with Owner Inspections, carrying out inspections across Brisbane and the Gold Coast. He brings more than 17 years in residential and commercial construction, including over four years conducting pre-purchase building and pest inspections, underpinned by a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering and a Certificate IV in Building and Construction.

Before moving into inspections full time, Heydar spent close to a decade as a project engineer on residential and commercial apartment projects, controlling structural drawings, preparing construction plans and site layouts, scheduling materials and making sure works were executed to regulation. He then moved into project management and site supervision on second-storey additions, renovations and extensions, where he coordinated subcontractors, carried out quantity surveying and estimating, reviewed building practices and site procedures, and ran projects from planning through to completion.

At Owner Inspections, Heydar performs construction stage inspections, including slab pre-pour, fixing and waterproofing, and practical completion, along with pre-purchase inspections, dilapidation reports and investigation inspections. Every inspection is assessed against the National Construction Code and the relevant Australian Standards, as well as the architectural plans, engineering drawings, layouts and specifications for the project, with defective work reported at each stage and followed through until it is rectified.

He holds a Queensland Building and Construction Commission licence and has completed General Pest Management and Timber Pest Management training. He works with a thermal camera and moisture meter on pre-purchase and pest inspections, and reports through digital inspection and reporting software.
